Charlie Dewhirst has been selected as the Conservative Party candidate for the new Bridlington & The Wolds constituency following the news that Sir Greg Knight MP will not be seeking re-election at the next General Election.
Charlie lives locally in Wansford, near Driffield, with his wife and two children. He is a senior adviser to the British pig industry and Deputy Leader of East Riding Council.
Charlie said: “It is an incredible honour to be selected as the Conservative Party candidate for my home constituency. I can’t wait to get out on the doorstep, listening to local people and helping them with their priorities.
“My role in the pig industry puts me at the heart of rural issues and my current position at East Riding Council gives me a unique insight into our communities on the coast and in the countryside. I hope I can use this experience to support all our local residents and businesses to make our beautiful part of Yorkshire an even better place to live and work.”
