I’ve been speaking to Ministers about the livestock disease threat posed by imports of illegal meat for a number of years – and now I’m continuing to speak up about it as an MP. The outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Germany is a timely reminder that we need to do more to increase biosecurity at our borders.
